BRTV Streaming FAQs

BRTV

With the 2024/25 season underway, Bristol Rovers FC has moved away from the iFollow platform and will instead be providing match live streams via BRTV.

We hope this comprehensive breakdown can assist our supporters to understand how match streaming will work in the 2024/25 season and beyond.

BRTV Streaming

What is BRTV?

BRTV - Bristol Rovers TV - is the Club's new, in-house broadcasting channel.

It is through BRTV that supporters can watch purchase passes to watch live matches, catch up on highlights from games, view extended interviews around the Club and much more.

What happened to iFollow?

From the 2024/25 season, EFL Clubs were offered the opportunity to either continue to source their key digital services from the league or produce these independently.

Bristol Rovers opted to operate our services - website and video streaming - independently. As such, from the start of the 2024/25 season, Bristol Rovers does not utilise the iFollow platform.

Does my account information carry over from iFollow to BRTV?

With the move to a new digital platform, the Club has also developed a new website. Built alongside Other Media, this website provides our supporters with an enhanced and sleeker digital experience.

Due to GDPR regulations, the Club could not assume permission to transfer this information over to the new website.

All supporters wishing to use the new digital platforms, including BRTV, will need to register or re-register for an account.

If a supporter uses an email address that was previously linked to a Bristol Rovers account in the old digital platform, the information previously held will automatically sync up and be connected.

Supporters wishing to register, re-register or log in to their account can do so here.

How has the new television deal changed match availability?

Sky Sports and the EFL have come to terms on a new broadcast deal that means  more league matches than ever will be available to watch across the Sky Sports main channels and new Sky Sports streaming service, Sky Sports+.

Games chosen for broadcast on Sky Sports and streaming on Sky Sports+ will be communicated by the Club, the EFL and Sky Sports in due course, along with any changes to the kick-off time and date and fixtures.

As part of that agreement, Bristol Rovers and other EFL Clubs can no longer live stream any EFL competition fixtures in the domestic market (United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Channels Isles).

Clubs do retain the rights to provide live steam video of EFL competition matches to supporters outside the domestic market, and these can be viewed and purchased here!

EFL Clubs are not permitted to live stream video any Carabao Cup or FA Cup matches to any market.

EFL Clubs are still permitted to provide live audio coverage of EFL competition matches to the domestic market.

How do I watch a match live on BRTV?

Matches available to watch on BRTV will have PPV match passes available here.

One-off match passes will cost just £10.

Pre-season fixtures will be available to watch in every market but, as discussed above, EFL competition matches will only be available to supporters outside the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Isles.

As such, supporters looking to purchase match passes from the domestic market will not be able to see the EFL options that are only intended for the international audience.

I am a supporter based in the UK. Can I still view League One matches through BRTV?

Unfortunately no.

The new Sky Sports broadcast deal, agreed with the EFL and commencing from the 2024/25 season, means all EFL Competition games for the domestic market (United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Channel Isles) are only viewable through the Sky Sports programming.

Matches will either be selected for broadcast on Sky Sports' main channels or for streaming on the new streaming service, Sky Sports+.

The Club will communicate match availability in due course.

I am in the international market - can I still purchase a Season Pass or Monthly Subscription?

Yes you can!

On top of £10 PPV matches, the Club is providing monthly subscriptions for EFL League One fixtures for £25, a half-season pass (valid until December 31 2024) for £99 and a full Season Pass for £180.

Each of these are viewable to supporters outside the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Channel Isles and can be purchased here.

I have purchased my pass. How do I watch the game?

All live streams can be viewed through the 'watch live' tab on BRTV. The streams will be found at the link here.

You will be required to register an account to purchase your match pass. It is important to ensure you are logged in to the Club website in order for the permissions and requirements to be applied, which in turn allows you to watch the live coverage.

Please ensure you are logged in here.

So long as you are logged in and you have purchased the right pass, your access to view the game will work.

Please note live-stream coverage may not start until five minutes before kick-off on some occasions.

Will the Club be providing live audio coverage of EFL Competition fixtures?

As part of the new broadcast deal, the Club retains the rights to provide live audio-only coverage of our EFL Competition matches in all markets.

Bristol Rovers is working to finalise the arrangements of our audio-only coverage for the 2024/25 season and a further announcement will be made in due course.
