10.10.22 Match Preview - MK Dons v Rovers

A clash in Buckinghamshire awaits the Gas...

Rovers face MK Dons tomorrow evening in Sky Bet League One. In our last game, Rovers returned to winning ways following our 2-1 victory over Cambridge United at The Mem with Josh Coburn's first Gas goal sealing the points.

Opposition View

Dons manager Liam Manning has said that his side needs to find some consistency after a difficult start to the season:

“It’s tough when you are going through a tough time. You want people to step up and take their opportunity and show they can be trusted. We’ve not had any consistency so far this season so we’re searching a little bit, trying to find out who can be trusted and what they can do. We want to provide opportunities and people will need time adjusting to League One and the way we want to play but the main challenge is we want to win games. We will develop players and give them opportunities but we need to win matches.”

Form Guide

MK Dons currently find themselves in 22nd place in the League One standings, three places behind Rovers. It has not been the start that many predicted for Liam Manning's side who suffered play-off heartbreak at the end of last season when they lost to Wycombe Wanderers in the semi-finals. Across their last five league games, MK Dons have recorded one win and lost four with their most recent game against Shrewsbury ending 2-1 to the Salops.

Will Grigg is currently the leading goalscorer for the Dons so far this season with three to his name but hasn't scored since MK Dons' 2-1 victory over Oxford United in September. Bradley Johnson and Matthew Smith are both on two goals up to this point in the campaign.

Oldham is yet to produce a red card in a League One game this season.
