Bristol Rovers striker Aaron Collins has been named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Season.
Collins fought off competition from Sheffield Wednesday's Barry Bannan and former Gas striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, who now plays for Peterborough.
Our number ten's 16 goals and 11 assists – the only player in the division to reach double figures in both categories – earned him the prestigious award at last night's EFL Awards Evening in London.
"I know I've had a good season but I wasn’t really expecting this," said Collins.
"This is my first season in League One and, to be in double figures in goals and assists, I’ve just played my game and it’s been an enjoyable season so far. I had a point to prove and it was time to prove I was good enough to go and play in League One after playing a lot of my career in League Two."
As well as being crowned overall winner, there was a spot in the Team of the Season for the popular 25-year-old.
The line-up was:
Michael Cooper | Plymouth Argyle |
Bali Mumba | Plymouth Argyle |
Leif Davis | Ipswich Town |
Mads Andersen | Barnsley |
Ricardo Santos | Bolton Wanderers |
Barry Bannan | Sheffield Wednesday |
Aaron Collins | Bristol Rovers |
Jonson Clarke-Harris | Peterborough United |
Conor Chaplin | Ipswich Town |
