We are delighted to announce the signing of left back Calum Macdonald from Stockport County!
Macdonald, 25, joins Rovers from League Two outfit Stockport County on a deal until the end of the season.
In 2016, he signed his first professional contract with Derby County. In the 2016/17 season, he was named Derby's under-23 Player of the Year. Calum earned international recognition in 2016, winning two caps for Scotland U21's.
During the 2017/18 season, Macdonald spent time on loan at Barrow, playing 21 games for the Bluebirds. In August 2019, after featuring on Derby's first-team bench eight times in the previous season, he signed for Blackpool on an initial two-year contract, making his debut for Blackpool in a 5–1 EFL Trophy win against Morecambe.
He then joined Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan in August 2020. In February 2021, the loan was made permanent as Macdonald signed an 18-month contract with Tranmere Rovers.
October 2022 saw the defender join Stockport County on a short-term contract until January 2023. Upon the expiration of the short-term deal, he signed a new contract to keep him at the club until the end of the season.
