01.06.23 Grant Ward Signs

Bristol Rovers is delighted to announce that midfielder Grant Ward has agreed terms on a new deal to extend his stay at The Memorial Stadium.

Ward, 28, joined the Gas from Blackpool in January and made 19 appearances in the number eight shirt, scoring one goal. He began his career at Tottenham, before spells at Coventry, Rotherham and Ipswich - where he scored a debut hat-trick in the Championship against Barnsley.

Rovers' boss Joey Barton said: "Grant joined us on a short-term deal in January and his quality was there for everyone to see.

"It was a no-brainer to secure his services for the next two seasons. He brings experience to our group and he will be an asset to Bristol Rovers as we move forward.”

Ward becomes Rovers' second signing of the summer after Josh Grant agreed a one-year extension, with a further one-year option.
