Bristol Rovers F.C is delighted to confirm the full complement of first-team staff to support the group for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
Jamie McAllister joins the club as Assistant Manager. McAllister, who had spells as a player at Aberdeen, Hearts and Livingston, worked as an assistant to Lee Johnson at Sunderland and Hibernian before joining the Gas earlier this season.
Wayne Carlisle will also be joining the staff as Individual Player Development Coach. Wayne had a playing career that spanned across many clubs including Crystal Palace, Swindon Town, Leyton Orient, Exeter and most notably Bristol Rovers. During his time at the club, Wayne scored 14 times in 71 appearances over a two-year spell. Wayne later became a youth coach at Exeter in 2011, and most recently supported Matt Taylor at Rotherham.
Kevin Bond re-joins the club as a first-team coach. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Portsmouth coach left Rovers in October 2022, having played a key role in our promotion to League One the same year.
Anssi Jaakola remains as the club's goalkeeping coach, following a successful transition from being a regular feature on the teamsheet to coaching. Anssi previously represented Finland as well as playing for Reading, Kilmarnock and Ajax Cape Town.
Academy Manager Byron Anthony will return to his previous role but will be spending time with the First Team, with an emphasis on building and maintaining the connection between First Team and the academy, aiding the pathway for the next generation.
