Rovers hosted Barnsley at the Mem for their first game of the League One season, where Barnsley went ahead through Nicky Cadden in the 7th-minute. After a back-and-forth game, Rovers broke on the counter during the 81st-minute, when Scott Sinclair was able to slot home the equaliser, with the game finishing 1-1.
