Bristol Rovers FC and Bristol Rovers Supporters Club have teamed up to install two brand new, life-saving defibrillators at the Memorial Stadium.
Bristol Rovers has put in place the life-saving equipment, which is now readily available for use not only to fans, visitors and staff but also the wider local community, in times of an emergency.
Thanks to an incredibly kind donation from Bristol Rovers Supporters Club, the Club were able to purchase two new defibrillators that have this week been installed at the Memorial Stadium under the supervision and advice of Simon Brookes from Defibs4Bristol.com. Since 2018 Simon has been raising awareness, funds and offering advice on the installation of lifesaving, publicly-accessible Defibrillators across Bristol.
Helen Wigmore from Bristol Rovers Supporters Club said, “All of us at Bristol Rovers Supporters Club are delighted to join with the Community Trust and Bristol Rovers to provide the defibrillators at The Memorial Stadium.”
Adam Tutton, CEO of Bristol Rovers Community Trust who helped organise the installation of the equipment said, “We would like to thank Bristol Rovers Supporters Club, Simon Brookes from Defibs4bristol.com and Neil Lloyd at Your Electrical without whom none of this would have been possible.
"Early use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) during a cardiac emergency dramatically increases a patient’s chances of survival. We hope that the installation not only provides a crucial lifesaving tool to our community, but also raises awareness about the importance of using one in an emergency"
Public access to the defibrillators which are positioned at the Memorial Stadium on the side of the ticket office and at the entrance to the Thatchers Bar will be Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and Matchdays from 8am-8pm
