Bristol Rovers’ Jed Ward has been named in the England Men’s Elite League Squad for the first time.
Goalkeeper Ward will be part of the England Elite League Squad, formerly the Men’s Under-20s, for the March’s internationals fixtures against Poland and Czechia.
The 20-year-old has been in fantastic form for Rovers this campaign, playing in the last ten Sky Bet League One fixtures and keeping three clean-sheets; including in the 0-0 draw away at Fleetwood Town on Tuesday.
Ward, who previously trained with England U19s in 2021, will now link up with the national squad for the upcoming matches with Poland and Czechia.
The Elite League Squad will travel to face Poland on Friday 22 March at the Bialystok City Stadium in Białystok, Poland, with kick-off set for 5pm GMT, before playing Czechia on Tuesday 26 March at the Mestsky Stadium in Ostrava, with kick-off at 2pm GMT.
Fellow goalkeeper Matthew Cox has also been selected for England duty, and will link up with the U21s for their Euro 2025 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.
Everyone at Bristol Rovers congratulates Jed and Matt on their selection for England
