Bristol Rovers Football Club and the Community Trust were delighted to visit the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children to deliver Christmas presents earlier this week.
Kamil Conteh, Bryant Bilongo, Ruel Sotiriou, Joel Senior and Connor Taylor visited the Hospital on Tuesday to hand out presents, with the Rovers players personally donating all the money to purchase toys and gift cards. The players spent the afternoon engaging with the children through talking football and playing games with them as well as signing autographs and having photos taken with the children.
The club would like to thank Smyths Toys at Cribbs Causeway, who generously provided the Community Trust with discount towards the presents, meaning we were able to purchase more gifts and spread a bit of joy to more young people.
Operation Community Hamper, who help vulnerable individuals and families across the year, also kindly donated hampers to the staff at the hospital which were delivered by Trust staff and were happily received by the hard working nurses and carers.
The Community Trust is proud to facilitate our community events and were delighted to work together with the Club and the hospital to bring joy to children at this time of year.
Bristol Rovers Community Trust CEO, Adam Tutton said: "It's been an incredibly successful afternoon at Bristol Children's Hospital, and it was a pleasure to meet all the staff and, of course, the incredible children on the wards. Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to wish them all of very Merry Christmas.
