Bristol Rovers Women is thrilled to announce the signing of Daisy Ackerman

Ackerman is a versatile forward who brings a wealth of experience from her time at Arsenal, Bristol City, and Cheltenham.

"When I first met with Nathan, Chris, and Debbie, I was really impressed with their passion for the club and how proud they are with what the club has achieved so far," she said.

"Their determination to keep driving the club forward, concentrating on individual player progression but also as a team."

Ackerman also highlighted the excellent facilities and the support system in place for players.

"The facilities are amazing, and the support being provided by the club to all players was definitely a bonus," she continued. "The team vision for further progression was impressive, and I wanted to be a part of that and to play a part in future successes."

The forward comes with experience beyond her youthful years, and is hoping her time working at the top level in the women's game can benefit Rovers.

"My main goal is to add strength to the team and support my teammates in their progression as well. I know I am only 21, but I have already gained lots of experience from playing for England at youth level and being part of Arsenal Academy, along with playing at tier three clubs.

"I hope I can use that and apply it to my personal development but also to help my teammates. I want to play at the highest level I can, along with gaining my nursing degree along the way."

Speaking on two of her most memorable career moment so far, she continued: "The first was getting my England call-up at the age of 15 and being selected to play an international fixture at St George's Park. Walking out and lining up for the English anthem with my family in the crowd is something I'll never forget.

“The second was playing for Arsenal women against Chelsea at the Emirates in front of thousands and training alongside some of the greats like Beth Mead and Jordan Nobbs. Those were inspirational moments that have inspired me to progress to my best ability."

As for playing under the bright lights at the The Memorial Stadium, Ackerman is eager and excited.

"I am really looking forward to the opportunity of playing at the Mem. You can't beat a stadium atmosphere, and I hear the fans are great and really get behind the team. I am really excited for the first home game of the season!"

Manager Nathan Hallett-Young is delighted to welcome Ackerman to his team and is looking forward to working with the attacker.

"Daisy is a really exciting signing for us. On the pitch, we know she possesses an amazing threat going forward. Her technical play, control on the ball, and distribution will be an amazing advantage, paired with her crossing ability which will really come into play this season. We know that she doesn't mind doing a defensive shift, which is massive for our game model going into next season."

"Off the pitch, she provides us with another level of experience. She has been around professional setups at Bristol City and Arsenal, and despite being young, has a wealth of knowledge which we are keen to lean on.

"Daisy is a bright and bubbly person and we were really keen to get her involved. Just from initial conversations, she’s really excited about our project. The most important thing for us is the wealth of experience she has displayed at such a young age, and we are excited to see what she can bring to the club. Her knowledge will be invaluable.”

We are delighted to welcome Daisy to the Club! Welcome aboard, Daisy!
