Bristol Rovers lost for the fifth successive time in Sky Bet League One after falling to a 1-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
The Gas came into the contest on the back of a spirited performance in their 2-1 loss to Birmingham City at The Memorial Stadium, with the Pirates also looking to complete a league double over the Trotters after beating them at The Memorial Stadium 3-2 less than a month ago.
After a first half lacking clear opportunities, Bolton came the closest when Aaron Morley's dangerous corner was headed onto the bar by Connor Talor. Jed Ward denied a long-distance effort and a volley from Aaron Collins after the break before the striker broke the deadlock, with the former Rovers man heading Gethin Jones' corner into the bottom corner.
The Gas responded with two opportunities, but Matt Butcher's header was pushed wide before Scott Sinclair scuffed a close-range attempt. However, they could not find a leveller and are three points above the relegation zone with five matches left to play.
