Bristol Rovers progressed to the second round of the Emirates FA Cup after beating Weston-super-Mare 3-1 after extra time.

The Seagulls came out quickly after the break, with Josh Griffiths pushing away a header from James Dodd before Luke Coulson fired in an equaliser.

Isaac Hutchinson blasted over, and Bryant Bilongo’s close-range shot was saved in the closing stages, with Rovers taking the lead in extra time.

Luke McCormick’s inviting cross was met by Connor Taylor, who thundered his header into the top corner to put the Gas ahead.

Grant Ward then added a third in stoppage time, curling a first-time strike from the edge of the box past Max Harris, securing Rovers' place in the second round.
