The Bristol Rovers History Group will be celebrating the historic 1974 promotion season with an exhibition of memorabilia at their Annual History Day on Saturday 9 November.
Located in The Thatchers’ Bar between 12:30pm and 2:30pm before the Gas’ Sky Bet League One clash against Lincoln City, fans can view a display of Rovers memorabilia, focusing on the 50th anniversary of gaining promotion to Division 2 in 1974, with the event free to all.
There has been a tremendous response from the players of that promotion team and we are delighted to welcome Peter Aitken, Jim Eadie, Frankie Prince and Tom Stanton. The ex-players are looking forward to meeting you, the fans to chat and sign autographs.
There will be photos and match reports of our massive 8-2 away win at Brian Clough’s Brighton, with goals from the famous ‘Smash and Grab,’ also known as Alan Warboys and Bruce Bannister.
