Jack Hunt stated he is enjoying being back on the pitch for Bristol Rovers after the Gas drew 1-1 with Stockport County in Sky Bet League One.
The Gas were behind heading into stoppage time after Isaac Olaofe’s early second-half strike had given the Hatters the lead before Sil Swinkels marked his debut for Rovers with a headed goal.
It was an impressive point for the Pirates, who extended their unbeaten run at The Memorial Stadium against a Stockport side that had won their last five matches in the third tier.
Hunt was pleased with the draw against the Hatters but confessed his side did not create enough chances.
“I think it’s a good point in the end,” he said. “I don’t think we created enough in the game to take anything from it, but when you stay in the game when you’re only a goal behind, set plays are massive in League One, and luckily enough for us today, we managed to score one of them.

“I think you’ve got to respect them [Stockport]. They are fourth in the league for a reason. They are on a really good run, and I thought they showed that tonight as well. They showed their quality and controlled large parts of the game.
“I think we limited them as best as we could, but we didn’t create enough from our side of things. When you’re not playing as well as you could, to come away with a point is quite pleasing.”
Hunt recently returned to the squad for the first time since Rovers lost 1-0 away to Reading in October and has started back-to-back games in the third tier, causing constant problems on the right.
Competing with Taylor Moore and Joel Senior for a place at right-back, Hunt is delighted to be back in the team.
“I’m just enjoying myself, to be honest,” said Hunt. “I don’t know how long it’s going to last. I’m just happy to be out there.”
He later added: “I have a good relationship with Luke Thomas, and I like playing with Grant Ward and James Wilson at the side of me. I think as long as that continues, I’ll be happy.”
Rovers have collected seven points from their last three games at The Memorial Stadium, beating Barnsley and Peterborough United before a 1-1 draw with Stockport. The Gas are five points above the relegation zone and face Burton Albion on Saturday, with the Brewers in the bottom three but unbeaten in their previous four fixtures.
Hunt confessed that everyone must build on the positive point against the Hatters and wants his side to continue their strong home form.
“I think we’ve got to realise as players, staff and fans where we are, unfortunately, in the league,” he admitted. “We need to keep building.
"Obviously, the manager has not been in for too long, but it is a massive game on Saturday, and we are very aware that they are looking at us to try and get to.
“Your home form, that what’s you look for at the start of the season. I think if we are going to achieve something this season and climb up the league, that definitely has to continue.”
