“I am aiming to play as many games as possible and to contribute to the team positively. I will work hard every day in training to ensure that I can perform at my best for the weekend matches.

I want to have the opportunity to show what I can do, week in and week out, in League One.

“I've had some really good discussions with the manager so far and it's become apparent that the way the Club wants to play suits me, and I'm eager to be a part of it and to make a positive impact.

“Right from the start of the transfer process, the Club has made it clear that they really wanted me to join, which caught my attention. I hope I can hit the ground running and show what I can do.”

Manager Matt Taylor welcomed Garrett to the Club and is looking forward to working with the midfielder.

Taylor said: “We are pleased to welcome Jake to the Club for the 2024/25 season. Jake is a hardworking and versatile midfielder with a lot of potential, and has already earned a strong reputation in the Championship.

Born in Liverpool, Garrett enjoyed spells with both the Liverpool and Everton Academies before joining Blackburn Rovers at nine-years-old.

The midfielder signed his first professional contract at Ewood Park when he turned 17, in March 2020, and made his senior debut in a Carabao Cup tie in August 2022 against Bradford City.

His league debut would come just a few short weeks later, in a 2-0 win over Sunderland, with Garrett ending the 2022/23 season with 13 showings in all competitions.

The 21-year-old started the 2023/24 season in excellent form, scoring his first goal for Blackburn in a 4-3 Carabao Cup win over Walsall. He would also score in Carabao Cup victories against Harrogate Town and Cardiff City, and in the Championship against West Bromwich Albion.

Twenty-eight appearances in all competitions and four goals would see Garrett named Blackburn’s Young Player Of The Year for the 2023/24 campaign.

Everyone at Bristol Rovers welcomes Jake to the Club and wishes him all the best for his time in the blue-and-white quarters.
