Kamil Conteh is looking forward to the busy fixture schedule ahead of Bristol Rovers’ upcoming match against Huddersfield Town in Sky Bet League One.
The Gas have not played since losing 4-0 to Swindon Town on Tuesday 8 October, but still have four games left to play in the month. Three will be in the third tier, where Rovers have previously won back-to-back games against Charlton Athletic and Burton Albion.
The Pirates travel to a Terriers team that ended a four-game losing run in League One with a 2-0 win over Barnsley, beating them again three days later in the Bristol Street Motors by the same score.
Conteh enjoyed his time away but insisted that it has been business as usual this week.
“I was back home with my family in London, so it was resting really and getting ready for this week,” he said. “We’ve been preparing and training for the game on Saturday like normal.
“Huddersfield are a good team with good players, some they have kept from the Championship. But come Saturday, it’s business, and we’re going there to do a job, so I’m looking forward to it.”
Conteh has been an integral part of Rovers’ team this season and has started eight of the ten league games so far, only missing one fixture entirely due to being on international duty with Sierra Leone.
Conteh stated that the busy period of the campaign is enjoyable when you’re involved, and it’s important to gain consistency.
"When you’re involved, it’s good because it’s a chance to show for yourself and for the team to pick up as many points as you can,” said Conteh. “It’s come to that time where it’s going to be busy, so if you’re playing all the time, it’s good.
“Games come thick and fast, especially now going towards the end of the year. There will be games on Tuesday and Saturday.
“A result that doesn’t go your way, you look back and review it, and you’ve got to move on. This is a chance to carry on the league action on Saturday, and if we do the job there, we have a game on Tuesday.
“It's about continuing it, and once you get consistency, it just flows.”
Huddersfield were relegated from the Championship last term and are under the guidance of new head coach Michael Duff. The Terriers have collected five wins and five losses from their ten outings, with Conteh believing they will have momentum.
“They’ve started the season well,” said the midfielder. “I think they’ve had a few results when they’ve been losing, so it’s about going there and doing what we need to do.
“They will have momentum as they are playing at home, but I think we will be alright.”
