Matt Taylor wants his Bristol Rovers team to continue their strong home form when they host Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday night.
The Gas will be looking to return to winning ways when they host the Shrews after losing 3-1 to Huddersfield Town on Saturday, previously beating Charlton Athletic and Burton Albion to start October brightly.
The Pirates have collected three league wins at the Memorial Stadium this campaign, triumphing against Northampton Town and Cambridge United with back-to-back clean sheets before a victory over the Addicks to end a four-game losing streak across September.
Taylor previewed the upcoming game against Shrewsbury and the atmosphere at The Memorial Stadium.
SHREWSBURY TOWN PREVIEW
"It was a strange game between Exeter City and Shrewsbury," said Taylor. "A 2-0 scoreline to Exeter looks comfortable, but it was far from it. I think Exeter’s goalkeeper got man of the match.
"I was at the Crawley game the week before, and there were eight goals in that game. They’ve certainly got some threats about them. They are a physical and strong team; we have to be where we need to be in terms of a home performance because we have to put today behind us pretty quickly."
SUPPORT AT THE MEMORIAL STADIUM
"We felt the support and atmosphere in the first game of the season and against Cambridge," said the manager. "We had the two home blips, with the Wigan game and the last-minute heartbreak against Wycombe Wanderers.
"But the way it was against Charlton is exactly the way we want it to be. If we get a result and a performance on Tuesday, we have won four out of six games at home, which isn’t a bad points return. We also know our away form needs to follow suit and improve."
LOOKING FOR A WIN
"If we win on Tuesday, we have won three out of the last four in the league, and it certainly changes the feel of what we’re feeling right now," he said. "We definitely need to show a little bit more than we are doing at the moment when things are going against us and are difficult.
"If people want to know how difficult it is, look at Huddersfield's run before the last couple of games. They had lost seven out of eight in the cup and league combined, which for a squad of players like that is unheard of.
"Our group is nowhere near where they are as yet, but we might be one day, and when we do, that’s something to look forward to."
