Bristol Rovers v Bolton Wanderers
Sky Bet League One, The Memorial Stadium, Saturday 7 December, 3:00pm

Bristol Rovers will be looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Leyton Orient when they face Bolton Wanderers at The Memorial Stadium in Sky Bet League One.

The Gas headed into their trip to Gaughan Group Stadium after beating Barnsley on penalties in the second round of the Emirates FA Cup. However, they could not repeat their brilliant away success.

The O’s gained a comfortable first-half lead after goals from Dan Happe, Ollie O'Neil and Dan Agyei, with Rovers unable to find a response and fell to defeat.

Bolton beat Manfield Town 3-1 in their last outing. The Stags took the lead at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, but Dion Charles, Victor Adeboyejo and John McAtee all netted in the final 15 minutes to claim the three points.

Opposition...

Bolton are playing in League One for the fourth successive season, twice going close to gaining promotion to the Championship. The most recent occasion came during the last campaign when they finished in third place but lost in the playoff final to Oxford United.

The Trotters are in seventh position in the third tier and are outside the playoff places on goal difference. They are unbeaten in their last three League One outings since losing 5-0 away to Stockport County, beating Blackpool and Mansfield either side of a 1-1 draw with Cambridge United.

This all came after a difficult start to the new term, where they only won one of their opening six fixtures.

Charles has been one of their best players this campaign, netting seven goals and registering four assists in the league. Former Rovers forward Aaron Collins has made 11 starts, netting three times.

Previous Meetings...

The Gas have only won one of their last ten meetings with Bolton in a run that stretches back to 1989. Rovers collected a 2-1 win on their travels in the previous campaign, with John Marquis and Antony Evans scoring, but lost 2-0 in the reverse fixture at The Memorial Stadium.

The Pirates last beat Bolton at home in January 1989, collecting a 2-0 triumph.
