Bristol Rovers v Bolton Wanderers
Sky Bet League One, The Memorial Stadium, Tuesday 11 March, 7:45pm KO

Bristol Rovers will be looking for back-to-back victories at The Memorial Stadium when they host Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday night.

The Gas ended their four-game winless streak with a 1-0 triumph over Huddersfield Town on the weekend, with Ruel Sotiriou looping his strike over Lee Nicholls to net his fifth goal in the third tier this term.

The win pushed the Pirates six points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand on Burton Albion. The Gas had been scheduled to host Bolton towards the start of last December. However, the clash was postponed by Storm Darragh.

Bolton beat the Brewers in their last outing. Josh Sheehan scored the winner for the Trotters after Aaron Morley's opener was cancelled out by Ryan Sweeney.

Opposition...

Bolton have been brilliant since Steven Schumacher took charge on January 30 2025. Despite losing his first game away to Reading, the Trotters have not lost in their last six outings to move into the playoff positions.

Rovers’ upcoming opponents displayed some brilliant character in that time. Bolton beat Crawley Town 4-3 at Toughsheet Community Stadium after being 3-1 down, drew with Wrexham and triumphed over League One leaders Birmingham City.

The Trotters will be confident of staying in the playoffs and will be looking to make it third time lucky this term. Losing to Barnsley in the semi-finals in the 2022-23 campaign and the final to Oxford United last season, Bolton will want to go one better this year and return to the Championship for the first time since the 2018-19 season.

Previous Meetings...

Rovers have had a difficult time against Bolton and have only won one of their last ten meetings against the Trotters. In that time, Rovers have only scored more than one goal in two of those fixtures.

The victory came last term, winning 2-1 at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, with John Marquis and Antony Evans on target. However, the Gas’ last triumph over Bolton at home came back in 1989. Bolton have won their previous four away games against the Gas, scoring two or more goals in each visit.
