Bristol Rovers v Bournemouth Sports

Women’s National League, The Memorial Stadium, Sunday 27th April, 2:00pm KO

Bristol Rovers Women will be looking to finish the season strong when they host Bournemouth Sports in the final game of the Women’s National League.

Since losing 2-0 to eventual champions AFC Bournemouth at The Vitality Stadium, The Gas have won three games in a row, in their quest to finish third in their first season in the Women’s National League.

Facing the threat of relegation, newly promoted Bournemouth Sports showed resilience and remained unbeaten throughout March. A crucial 1-0 victory over Maidenhead United at the end of the month proved decisive in securing their place in the league.

Opposition...

Bournemouth Sports Ladies secured safety after an unbeaten March after a difficult start to the Women’s National League.

They head into this weekend’s clash on the back of a two-nil loss to Bridgwater United, but thanks to draws against Keynsham Town and Moneyfields, and wins over Maidenhead, Portishead and Southampton, Sports ensured that they will be playing National League Football next season.

Thanks to their results, Head Coach Dr Vincent Marmion was named Manager of the Month for March 2025.

Previous Meeting...

In the reverse fixture, Bristol Rovers came away with a 3-1 victory on the road. An early goal from Katie Kingshott gave the hosts the lead, but Meg and Nia’s goals gave the Gas the lead by the end of the first half. Another goal from Meg in the 75th minute helped The Gas take all three points home.
