Crawley Town Preview

Bristol Rovers v Crawley Town
Sky Bet League One, The Memorial Stadium, Saturday 16 November, 3:00pm

Bristol Rovers will play their fourth successive game at The Memorial Stadium in all competitions when they host Crawley Town on Saturday.

The Gas drew 1-1 with Lincoln City last weekend, with Shaq Forde netting in the first half with a clever curling finish before Jack Moylan equalised after the break. It followed a 3-2 loss to Exeter City in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and a 3-1 triumph over Weston-super-Mare in the Emirates FA Cup.

The Pirates are in 16th position in the third tier and have three more games left in November after the fixture against the Red Devils. They play Mansfield Town and Blackpool in the league before travelling to Barnsley in the FA Cup.

Crawley collected an impressive 2-2 draw at home to Huddersfield Town in their last outing, with Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Max Anderson scoring. However, they will be disappointed after twice taking the lead.

Opposition...

Crawley gained promotion from League Two last season after beating Crewe Alexandra at Wembley Stadium, with Danilo Orsi and Liam Kelly scoring. However, it was a turbulent transfer window for the Red Devils, who lost eight players who started in the final.

They opened the new season well and collected back-to-back wins over Blackpool and Cambridge United but have only won one of their last 13 games in the third tier. As a result, they are inside the relegation places, two points away from Leyton Orient, just above the drop zone.

Rob Elliott is also a new face in the dugout after replacing Scott Lindsey in October, with their previous boss deciding to move to Milton Keynes Dons.

Previous Meetings...

Crawley have won the previous two games against the Gas, triumphing in the Carabao Cup in 2022 before winning 2-1 in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy last campaign.

However, the Gas were unbeaten in six against the Red Devils before that, collecting a 2-1 win in League Two in the 2021/22 season at the Broadfield Stadium. The Pirates also won the last fixture at The Memorial Stadium, with Leon Clarke scoring in a 1-0 victory.
