Bristol Rovers v Leyton Orient
Sky Bet League One, The Memorial Stadium, Wednesday 1 January 2025, 3:00pm
Bristol Rovers will look to start 2025 strongly when they host Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League One.
The Gas will be wanting to turn a corner after a disappointing end to the previous year. They lost five of their last six games in the third tier, most recently finishing on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline away to Stevenage in Iñigo Calderón's first game as Rovers' head coach.
The Spaniard will be greeted by the home crowd at The Memorial Stadium for the first time on Wednesday, and the Pirates should have confidence from their last home showing when they drew 1-1 with Wrexham, who are pushing for promotion to the Championship.
Orient have been in strong form recently. In their previous game, they beat Cambridge United 2-0, with Ollie O'Neill and Jamie Donley scoring.

Opposition...
Orient were one of the best teams in League One in December and will be heading to The Memorial Stadium trying to continue their excellent form in December.
The O's started the month with a 3-0 victory over the Gas at Gaughan Group Stadium to move out of the relegation zone and have not looked back since.
Including their triumph over Rovers, they have not conceded in their previous seven outings in all competitions, winning five games in the third tier, with their only draw coming against Burton Albion. Beating teams around them in the league during that time, such as the Gas, Wigan Athletic, Crawley Town and Cambridge, Orient are in tenth position, only six points outside the playoffs.
Previous Meetings...
Rovers have only lost two of their last seven matches with Orient and will be looking to bounce back after their 3-0 defeat to the O's earlier this season, with Dan Happe, O'Neil and Dan Agyei netting first-half goals.
The Gas’ last game against Orient at The Memorial Stadium in November 2023 ended in a 1-1 draw, with their previous home triumph coming back in 2015.
Playing in League Two, Rory Gaffney netted a brace with two excellent efforts in a 2-1 victory for the Gas.
