Bristol Rovers v Mansfield Town
Sky Bet League One, The Memorial Stadium, Saturday 29 March, 3:00pm KO

Bristol Rovers will be searching for their third successive win at The Memorial Stadium when they host Mansfield Town in Sky Bet League One.

The Gas have lost back-to-back away fixtures in the third tier, falling to defeats to Lincoln City and Crawley Town, but will be confident returning home. Rovers beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 at The Mem before coming out the right side of a five-goal thriller against Bolton Wanderers, with Connor Taylor heading in a late winner.

With eight games left this season, the Pirates are six points above Burton Albion, who are just inside the relegation zone in 21st position. However, the Brewers have played one fewer match.

The Stags won their last match in League One, with Deji Oshilaja scoring a 90th-minute winner at One Call Stadium after Josh Benson cancelled out Caylan Vickers’ opener.

Opposition...

Mansfield's victory over Barnsley almost two weeks ago was massive in terms of the context of their season. The Stags gained promotion from League Two last term and were battling for a position in the playoffs halfway through the season.

Nigel Clough’s men were only four points outside the playoffs and had played a game fewer than Reading in sixth position after their 2-1 win away to Stockport County. However, Mansfield then went on a winless run of 13 fixtures before beating the Tykes, pushing them eight points clear of the drop zone.

Despite their downturn in form in the second half of the campaign, Mansfield are in a strong position to avoid relegation this campaign, which will be viewed as a great success after gaining promotion to the third tier for the first time in 21 years.

Previous Meetings...

Rovers have a strong record against Mansfield and have only lost two of the previous 14 meetings with the Stags in all competitions. The Gas will be looking to do the double against their upcoming opponents after beating them away from home this campaign, with Luke McCormick netting a close-range winner in a 1-0 victory.

The Pirates last beat Mansfield at The Mem in 2016, with Matt Taylor scoring the only goal.
