Bristol Rovers v Reading
Sky Bet League One, The Memorial Stadium, Saturday 26 April, 12:30 KO
Bristol Rovers play Reading in their final match at The Memorial Stadium this season on Saturday, looking to bolster their hopes of survival in Sky Bet League One.
The Gas did not build on their Good Friday draw against automatic promotion hopefuls Wrexham when they hosted Stevenage in their previous fixture, with Jamie Reid scoring the only goal in the first half after rounding Jed Ward and finishing from close range.
As a result, the Pirates are in the relegation zone on goal difference with two fixtures to play. Burton Albion is in the position above and have a game in hand on Rovers.
Reading thumped Mansfield Town 5-1 on the road in their previous fixture, with Jayden Wareham scoring a brace for the Royals alongside an own goal from George Williams and strikes from Lewis Wing and Billy Bodin.

Opposition...
Reading have had a superb season in League One and are fighting to finish the campaign in the playoff places. The Royals are level on 72 points with sixth place Leyton Orient with two games left and are only behind the O’s on goal difference.
Noel Hunt’s men's massive win over Mansfield was their third victory in five outings, with their only defeat in that time coming at home to Lincoln City. Reading have collected impressive results against some of the best teams in the third tier in 2025, drawing with Birmingham City and beating Wrexham and Wycombe Wanderers, keeping a clean sheet in all three fixtures.
Reading travel to Rovers on Saturdays early kick-off, attempting to pressurise Orient, who play Wycombe, with the Royals ending the season at home to Barnsley.

Previous Meetings...
Rovers have a difficult record against Reading and are winless in their previous eight fixtures in all competitions against the Royals. The Gas’ last victory against their upcoming opponents came in 1999, with the Pirates claiming a 6-0 triumph on the road.
The Gas lost 1-0 to Reading in the reverse fixture, with Sam Smith scoring the only goal at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. Rovers were unfortunate not to claim at least a draw, with Joel Pereira making a string of impressive saves to retain his clean sheet.
