Opposition...
Shrewsbury are playing in League One for the tenth successive season and will be looking to repeat a good campaign after finishing in 12th position last term.
The Shrews have won two of their opening 12 games in the third tier and are inside the relegation zone on eight points but put on an excellent attacking display in their previous away outing.
Paul Hurt’s men scored five on the road against Crawley Town, with former Rovers forward John Marquis and George Lloyd netting a brace and a header from Toto Nsiala helping them to three points.
Some of Shrewsbury’s transfer business will be known by Gasheads, with Marquis and Jordan Rossiter joining from the Pirates. Town made 15 signings in the summer, including five players on loan from the Premier League.
Daniel Udoh left for Wycombe Wanderers after scoring ten goals in League One last term, with Tom Bayliss moving to Lincoln City.
Previous Meetings...
Rovers collected four points from their two meetings with Shrewsbury last season, winning 2-0 away from home after goals from Marquis and Aaron Collins before a 0-0 draw at The Memorial Stadium.
The Gas have only lost one of the last six games between the two teams. The Pirates last beat the Shrews in 2021, with Luke Leahy and Brandon Hanlan scoring in a 2-1 triumph.
