Bristol Rovers v Wycombe Wanderers
Sky Bet League One, The Memorial Stadium, Saturday 28 September, 3:00pm

Bristol Rovers will attempt to make it three wins in four Sky Bet League One games at The Memorial Stadium when they face Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

The Gas kept clean sheets in their first two home outings in the third tier, beating Northampton Town and Cambridge United before losing to Wigan Athletic.

The Pirates come into this fixture after a narrow 3-2 loss to Peterborough United, with Luke McCormick and Gatlin O’Donkor coming off the bench to score for Rovers.

Wycombe beat Cambridge 2-1 in their previous league match, thanks to a late winner from Cameron Humphreys.

Opposition...

Wycombe have been consistent in League One and have finished in the top ten positions in the previous three seasons since being relegated from the Championship in the 2020-21 campaign.

The Chairboys were handed a tough start to the season and lost their first two fixtures 3-2 to promotion challengers Wrexham and Birmingham City.

However, they have won three of their last four league outings and have proven themselves against Championship opposition, beating Swansea City 1-0 in the second-round of the Carabao Cup before being knocked out by Aston Villa two days ago.

Wycombe were also busy in the transfer window and made some clever additions. Fred Onyedinma joined on a free transfer from Luton Town after making eight Premier League appearances last term.

Tyreeq Bakinson has plenty of experience in the English Football League and moved from Sheffield Wednesday, with Daniel Udoh transferring from Shrewsbury Town after scoring ten goals last season.
