Swindon Town v Bristol Rovers
Bristol Street Motors Trophy, The County Ground, Monday 8 October, 7:00pm

Bristol Rovers will attempt to collect their third successive win in all competitions when they travel to Swindon Town in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

The Gas have started October brilliantly after a difficult September, opening the month with a 3-2 victory over Charlton Athletic in Sky Bet League One before collecting their first away win on the road, beating Burton Albion 3-1.

The Pirates have one point in Southern Group G of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy and will move above Tottenham Hotspur U21s if they beat Swindon.

The Robins drew 0-0 with Harrogate Town in their last Sky Bet League Two fixture.

Opposition...

Swindon are playing in League Two for the fourth successive season and finished 19th last term. The Robins have had a tough start to the new campaign and have won one of their ten games in the fourth tier, thumping Newport County 4-0 at home.

Mark Kennedy’s side have collected eight points and are two points above the relegation zone. Swindon were also defeated in the opening game of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy campaign, losing 2-1 to Exeter City.

The Robins made some interesting additions in the transfer window. George Cox joined the club after spending the last four seasons playing in the Eredivisie for Fortuna Sittard.

Two of their additions have started every league game this season. Will Wright moved from Crawley Town, and Miguel Freckleton switched on loan from Sheffield United.

Gavin Kilkenny also transferred permanently from Bournemouth, where he gained Championship experience.
