Wigan Athletic v Bristol Rovers
Sky Bet League One, The Brick Community Stadium, Saturday 25 January, 3:00pm
Bristol Rovers will be searching for their third successive win in Sky Bet League One when they travel to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
The Gas followed their 1-0 away victory over Cambridge United with a 3-1 triumph over Barnsley at The Memorial Stadium last weekend, where Gatlin O’Donkor, Isaac Hutchinson and Ruel Sotiriou all scored to help Rovers to their first home victory in the third tier since October.
The Pirates’ win lifted them seven points above the relegation zone, with Iñigo Calderón’s men ending the month with trips to Wigan and Charlton Athletic.
Wigan lost at home to Burton Albion in their previous match. Thelo Aasgaard opened the scoring for the Latics, but Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Rumarn Burrell scored for the Brewers to complete the comeback.

Travel...
If travelling by car, leave the M6 to Junction 25 then take the A49 to Wigan. After about two-and-a-half miles you will approach a large roundabout. Continue straight on but keep in the left lane and then at the lights towards Robin Park. At the next roundabout, go straight across and at the next traffic lights turn right into Stadium Way for the ground.
If travelling by train, both of Wigan’s central railway stations - Wigan North Western and Wallgate stations - are around a 20-minute walk from the Brick Community Stadium.
Opposition...
Wigan are one place and two points above Rovers in the Sky Bet League One table. The Latics have lost three of their last four matches in the third tier, beating Stevenage away 2-1 midway through January.
Shaun Maloney's men have had a difficult time at home recently and have not won in the third tier at The Brick Community Stadium since the end of November when they triumphed against Northampton Town.
Wigan have had a busy January transfer window and have made several additions. Defender Josh Robinson signed permanently from Arsenal, and forward Joe Hungbo moved from FC Nurnberg after spending time on loan at Rotherham United. Other additions include striker Will Goodwin on loan from Oxford United, defender Jon Mellish on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Carlise United and midfielder Ollie Norburn on loan from Blackpool.
Going the other way, Calvin Ramsay and Joe Hugill, who were on loan from Liverpool and Manchester United, respectively, returned to their parent clubs before moving elsewhere.
Previous Meetings...
Wigan beat Rovers in the reverse fixture at The Memorial Stadium, with Hugill netting a first-half brace before goals from Thelo Aasgaard and Luke Chambers after the break in a 4-0 victory.
The Gas have only won one of their last 12 meetings with the Latics in all competitions, winning 4-1 at home last season. Rovers last beat Wigan away in 1990, coming away with a 2-1 victory.
