Wrexham

Wrexham v Bristol Rovers
Sky Bet League One, The STōK Cae Ras, Friday 18 April, 3:00m KO

Bristol Rovers will attempt to move out of the relegation zone when they travel to Wrexham in Sky Bet League One.

The Gas dropped into the bottom four for the first time this campaign after falling to a 2-1 loss to Exeter City on Saturday, with Caleb Watts and Reece Cole giving the Grecians a two-goal advantage at half-time before Ruel Sotiriou netted a consolation after the break.

The Pirates are winless in six and have not been victorious since beating Bolton Wanderers in a five-goal thriller at The Memorial Stadium in March. The Gas now travel to Wales without a victory on the road since beating Cambridge United 1-0 in early January.

Wrexham drew 0-0 away to Wigan Athletic in their last game, stretching their unbeaten run in the third tier to six games.

Opposition...

Wrexham are closing in on making history this season. The Red Dragons are in second place and are looking to secure an unprecedented third successive promotion. After storming the National League with 111 points and finishing second in League Two behind Stockport County last term, the Welsh outfit have a place in the Championship in their sights.

Six unbeaten in the third tier, a 0-0 draw with Wigan in their previous match means they are only one point ahead of Wycombe Wanderers, who are just behind them in third position. Phil Parkinson's men have a strong foundation for their success and have kept a league-high 22 clean sheets this campaign, including eight in their previous ten matches.

With Rovers, Blackpool, Charlton Athletic and Lincoln City left to play, Wrexham's fate is in their own hands.

Previous Meetings...

Rovers are travelling to Wrexham for the first time since the 2014/15 campaign, where the Gas drew 0-0 with the Red Dragons in the Conference before winning 1-0 at The Mem in the reverse fixture.

The previous meeting at the Racecourse Ground came in 2007 when Chris Llewellyn and Tom Craddock scored in a 2-0 triumph in League Two.

Rovers drew 1-1 with Wrexham at The Mem this season, with Promise Omochere heading in a late leveller after Elliot Lee's first-half opener.
