A late goal in injury time saw Bristol Rovers fall to a 2-1 home defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.
The Gas were searching for their third win in four outings at The Memorial Stadium in the third tier and took the lead through Scott Sinclair, who rushed onto a smart pass from Ruel Sotiriou and cooly slotted his strike into the bottom-right corner.
Chances were few and far between for either side until Wycombe levelled with fewer than fifteen minutes remaining. Daniel Harvie displayed great individual qualify to control the ball on the left before whipping a right-footed strike past Josh Griffiths.
The Chairboys gained momentum and scored the winner with seconds remaining. Rovers failed to clear a dangerous corner, with Joe Low heading the ball in from close range.
Both teams started slowly and were finding their feet in the opening exchanges, with Gatlin O'Donkor doing his best to unsettle Wycombe's defence on his first start.
The forward was one of four players Matt Taylor decided to put into the side after the defeat to Peterborough United. His decision was rewarded early on, with Sinclair breaking the deadlock on his first League One start since the opening day.
The captain raced onto a flicked pass from Sotiriou and curled his strike into the bottom corner, cleverly sending the goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli the wrong way.
The Chairboys looked to respond immediately and went close from a corner. David Wheeler met Daviel Harvie's inviting cross and knocked his header across the goal and just over the bar.
A quiet period followed before Sinclair was at the heart of the action again on the left. The experienced winger demonstrated great trickery, dribbling past his marker before pulling a fast cutback into the box. However, a defender got across well to stop Clinton Mola from scoring from close range.
The visitors looked at their most threatening from corners and could have levelled before the break. Josh Griffiths failed to punch the ball away, and it looped towards Richard Kone, who headed over.
Rovers then had the first opportunity after the restart. Thomas drove into the box before his low effort rolled agonisingly wide of the post.
Griffiths had little to do for the first hour but was called into action after Harvie's searching cross was headed across the goal by McCleary, with the goalkeeper diving down bravely to claim it with Beryly Lubala ready to score.
Wycombe were having a bright spell, with Fred Omyedinma turning quickly on the edge of the box before firing his strike at Griffiths and Harvie dragging a shot well wide.
The Chairboys then equalised after great work from Harvie. The left-back collected the ball on the edge of the box, shifting possession onto his right foot before whipping his effort beyond the goalkeeper.
Wycombe had all the momentum and were denied a second goal after a sublime stop from Griffiths. McCleary rolled a fantastic pass through to Scowen, but the shot-stopper made himself big to make the save.
The Pirates were still pushing for a winner and created a great opening. Shaq Forde sent a pass to Jack Hunt, who got to the byline and cut the ball back across to Jamie Lindsay, but he lifted his first-time shot well over.
However, Wycombe claimed the win in the final moments, with Low getting on the end of a corner to score with his head with just seconds left to play.
