Scott Sinclair insisted that his Bristol Rovers team cannot dwell on their 3-1 loss to Huddersfield Town in Sky Bet League One.
The Terriers were three goals ahead before the hour mark after efforts from Matty Pearson, Callum Marshall, and Bojan Radulovic put the hosts in a comfortable.
Isaac Hutchinson came off the bench to get his first goal for the Gas, but it was not enough to start a comeback, with Rovers losing for the second consecutive time in all competitions.
Sinclair was disappointed with the result but quickly said that his team must turn their attention to their upcoming game against Shrewsbury Town at The Memorial Stadium on Tuesday.
"It’s obviously really disappointing when you lose a game like that," said Sinclair. "You’re coming in with your head down, but it’s one of those games where you’ve got to bounce back.
“We’ve got another game on Tuesday, so we can’t dwell on it too much and we’ll go into it making sure we get a result there.”
The Terriers had lost four successive games before back-to-back 2-0 home wins over Barnsley in League One and the Bristol Street Motors Trophy to gain confidence, with Michael Duff’s men pushing for an immediate return back to the Championship.
Sinclair respected Huddersfield's quality, believing they are one of the better teams in the third tier.
“They’ve got great players there, and they pass the ball around very well,” he said. “I think they will be up there in the top six, so we did play a quality team. But we want to do as well as we can and win games as well.
“We were very under the cosh and defending in the first half. We had a few chances in the second half and got a goal back by Isaac, and Lino could’ve made it 3-2. The first half was tough, and the second half was a little bit better, but it wasn’t good enough."
Rovers started October positively after a difficult September, beating Charlton Athletic and Burton Albion in League One, scoring three goals in each game.
Sinclair stated that a return to winning ways would boost the mood and suggested the substitutes off the bench will push for a starting spot after playing well against Huddersfield.
"If we win on Tuesday, everything will be happy again," he said. "It’s football, and three out of four sounds good, but you’ve got to continue with the consistency of winning games and back-to-back games as well.
"This is the squad we’re in. I think there’s a lot of competition, which makes it healthy. I think all the lads did well when they came on, but they’ll be fighting to play on the Tuesday as well."
