The Stewart's Sports Tour raised over £60,000 for the battle against Motor Neurone Disease in a day of teamwork and camaraderie.
Led by former Bristol Rovers player Marcus Stewart, Louise Stewart, Stephen Darby, Steph Houghton and The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, over 300 willing participants trekked an 18-mile excursion around Bristol in a bid to raise further much-needed funds.
Former striker Stewart was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2022. Ever since, he and wife Louise - as Team Stewart - have worked tirelessly and passionately to increase public awareness of the condition, while raising over £430,000 in 18 months of campaigning.
Another £60,000 can now be added to that total with the valiant efforts of almost 60 teams of people on Saturday 20 July, who visited Bristol's most notable sporting venues as part of the challenge.
Spirits were high ahead of the walk on Saturday morning with Bristol Rovers first team manager Matt Taylor on hand to share words of encouragement and wish all participants the very best as they headed out from The Memorial Stadium.
A few hours later, The Mem once again welcomed the tired, but happy, participants as they celebrated their efforts into the evening.
