Taylor Moore has partnered with the Bristol Rovers Community Trust to launch a new mental health initiative called “5K Your Way.”
This new project aims to promote both physical and mental well-being, encouraging participants to take part in a 5K walk while engaging in open conversations about mental health. The initiative highlights the importance of combining physical activity with social connection to enhance mental health.
The first '5K Your Way' is scheduled for Thursday, 24th October at 6:30 PM, starting from the SS Great Britain, where participants will be able park at the Maritime Heritage Centre car park in Bristol.
Participants will walk together through the nearby area, creating an opportunity for members to discuss mental health in a relaxed environment. Attendees are also welcome to bring dogs, and after the walk, participants will gather for a casual get-together, providing a space for further conversation and reflection (Venue details to be confirmed in due course)
Taylor said: “I’m really proud to be starting the ‘5K Your Way’ initiative. It’s such a simple yet powerful idea to get people together for a walk, chatting, and supporting each other. Mental health is something close to my heart, and I know how much physical activity can help.
"I want to encourage as many people as possible to come along, whether you’re struggling or just want to get out and be part of something positive."
Community Trust CEO Adam Tutton said: "We are thrilled to launch ‘5K Your Way,’ a project that truly embodies our commitment to promoting physical and mental well-being within our community.
"Taylor Moore’s involvement has been invaluable—he’s not only a fantastic role model on the pitch but also an advocate for mental health. His passion for helping others and raising awareness about the importance of staying active and talking about mental health is inspiring. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this initiative will have on our community."
This brand-new initiative aligns with Moore's role as Health Ambassador, where he actively promotes the link between physical activity and mental well-being. By participating in “5K Your Way,” the community is invited to improve both their physical fitness and mental resilience, making it a powerful step toward fostering mental health awareness in Bristol.
