Bristol Rovers Women are thrilled to announce the signing of promising young attacker Tyra Wilson, who brings her international experience from playing with the Scotland National Team to the club.

Wilson has also developed her skills through stints at the Bristol City and Oxford United academies.

Wilson shared her first impressions of the team and the coaching staff, saying, "When I first met with Nathan and Chris I was blown away by their enthusiasm and drive to take the team as far as they can, and this made me feel confident that they want the best for me and all of their players.”

She also praised the club's facilities, noting, "The facilities at The Quarters are amazing and it’s great that we have access to the same as the men’s team."

Despite being only 16 years old, Wilson feels welcomed and supported by her new teammates and coaches. "Nathan, Chris, and all of the staff and players have already made me feel included and comfortable within the senior environment," she said.

Looking ahead, Wilson has set ambitious personal goals. "My personal goal is to be a regular starter and score and assist as many goals as I can to help the team push to where we want to be," she explained.

Wilson also reflected on a significant milestone in her career. "A moment in my career that I am proud of is being called up for the Scotland National Team, and this has encouraged me to keep pushing to play at the highest level I can," she said. "I feel this has helped me to become a stronger, more determined, and confident player."

Manager Nathan Hallett-Young shared his excitement about the new signing, stating, “Tyra impressed us massively in the trials; we knew we had to sign her up straight away.

It’s clear to see that she’s been around the academies for a long time; she’s a very exciting young player. For us, it’s going to be exciting to see her on the ball and progressing. She’s very mature for her age, which is great to see.”

Hallett-Young continued, “You don’t get many players her age who can step into women’s football and make such an impact in the trials and training. She’s stepping up, and the squad can see that. On the pitch, she’s going to be a really exciting, attacking player for us.”

He also highlighted Wilson’s positive impact on the team environment. “It’s great to see that she’s able to have a good laugh with the squad; it’s nice to have that environment around the camp. Amazingly, such a young player can integrate themselves into the squad in such a short time,” he added.
