Chris Martin joined Bristol Rovers in September 2023 on a free transfer after leaving Queens Park Rangers.
Martin started his career at Norwich City and debuted aged eighteen in the 2006/07 season, scoring four Championship goals in eighteen appearances.
He fell out of favour the following campaign, making a loan move to Luton Town and scoring eleven goals in League Two. Paul Lambert brought him back into the Canaries League One team, where he netted seventeen goals to help his side win the third tier.
The striker scored seven goals back in the Championship but missed the end of the season due to a hamstring injury.
Norwich earned promotion to the Premier League, with Martin struggling to get into the team after starting three of the first four matches. Loan moves to Crystal Palace, Swindon Town and Derby followed the next two seasons before he moved to the Rams permanently in 2013 on a two-year deal.
He scored 53 goals across the following three Championship campaigns but then had another period of loans. Martin had spells at Championship sides Fulham, Reading and Hull City before spending his final season at Derby under Phillip Cocu in 2019, netting eleven goals in 36 outings.
The forward moved to Bristol City in September 2020 and was at the Robins for three seasons. His best campaign came in his second campaign at the club, scoring twelve goals.
Martin left City by mutual consent midway through the 2022/23 campaign and had a short spell at QPR before moving to Bristol Rovers in September 2023. It was a successful campaign for Martin, who scored sixteen goals in 34 League One matches.
Martin represented England Under-19s but played for Scotland at the senior level, making his debut against Nigeria in May 2014. He scored his first of three goals against Gibraltar in a Euro 2016 qualifier.
